in time some 200 years when paying a visit to this town. Hope Town features one of the last operational kerosene-fueled lighthouses in the world.

The lighthouse was built in 1862 and was painted in red and white candy-stripes. One of the most iconic structures in the Bahamas, the lighthouse must be hand-cranked every two hours to remain operational.
